CLIENT PROJECT | book design & production | image optimisation | web design | online store
In this 280-page book, copiously illustrated with pictures from a remarkable career, journalist Fergal Ringrose tells the story of an Irish sporting legend: his father, Colonel Billy Ringrose.
This project began with the production of the book itself. Working with the author, Quinntessential designed and produced the 280-page softcover book, overseeing production through pre-press, proofreading and printing. Considerable attention was paid to optimisation of photographs, many of which were from archive sources.
The website was created to promote the book and to provide a platform for online sales.
“I got lucky when Frank agreed to help me get my book published. I was finishing the writing stage and, having approached the main regular book publishers in Ireland, now realised I was looking at self-publishing. How could I get a book printed and published? What about layout and cover design? How to deal with marketing, website, online payments, a social media strategy? Where do I go from here?
When I approached Frank he didn’t have the answers to hand, but I knew from experience that he would find them and that the journey would be fun. Once locked into a project, Frank does not see challenges as problems: he’ll head straight through them, or else will take a new route, sometimes into the unknown! Hold on tight: if we’re going to do this thing, let’s do it right. Which we did.
And the journey was fun – as I knew it would be. Thanks Frank!”
